The first woman appointed to the office of Governor-General of Australia will address the next QUT Business Leaders' Forum on Friday, 28 November at the Hilton Brisbane.

The Hon. Quentin Bryce has a rich and distinguished career of more than 40 years' leadership experience in law, academia, community reform, human rights advocacy and a range of senior public roles.

Ms Bryce will share her personal journey from her early years in Ilfracombe, a small town in central west Queensland, to becoming one of the first women accepted to the Queensland Bar.

She was appointed Federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner for the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission before serving as Governor of Queensland and Governor-General of Australia.

Ms Bryce, who was recently announced as the chair of a new taskforce aimed at reducing domestic violence incidents in Queensland, will also speak on what she regards as the key characteristics of effective leadership and what matters to her now in this next phase of her life.

The Forum, which is sold out, will again be moderated by leading journalist Kerry O'Brien.
