- The APN network widely ran stories on the QUT Vice-Chancellor's STEM Camp.
- Science Alert featured Associate Professor Adrian Barnett's research on Australia's pollution standards.
- Dr Mark McGovern's paper urging the Federal Government to address rural debt was featured by The Land and The Australian Dairy Farmer.
- Dr Daniel Johnson gave the Today show some tips on fostering healthy video game habits.
- Dr David Willis told AAP and the APN network why Queensland Government's plan to spend $3.4 billion from state asset leases on reducing electricity prices $5 a week would be "wiped out" within its first years.
- Professor Ben White told the Aged Care Guide the vast majority of Australians do not have a plan allowing them to die with dignity
- The Brisbane Times' story about the Pope's astronomer speaking at a QUT event ran across the Fairfax network.
- Professor Brad Haseman told the Courier-Mail recommendations to slash arts from the Australian Curriculum dismisses decades of research showing the importance of arts in early childhood education.
- Associate Professor Mark Lauchs explained to 612 ABC's Drive listeners how Queensland's new-look Crime and Corruption Commission differs from the old Crime and Misconduct Commission. 612 ABC's Steve Austin, ABC TV, Sky News and Ten News also sought his comments on Queensland Police Union claims that LNP backbenchers were about to abandon ship.
- Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Carol Dickenson told mX your choice of degree rather than university is what could predict your earnings after graduation.
- The Conversation featured pieces by QUT experts Yanto Browning (on independent music), Professor Brian McNair (News Corp vs jouralism educators), and Professor Axel Bruns (online news audiences).
- Cosmopolitan magazine featured QUT grad Hayley Elsaesser in a story about the up-and-coming designers creating fashion trends.

- Researchers from QUT's Social Media Research Group lend their expertise to the weekly social media panel on Patrick Condren's 4BC morning show (Tuesdays 9.30am). Professor Alex Bruns, Dr Stephen Harrington and Dr Darryl Woodford are the rotating regulars.
- Dr Edwina Luck (School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations) is a regular on 4BC's Spin Cycle.
- Susan Hetherington (Creative Industries Faculty) has a Family Affairs segments on ABC Radio Brisbane (6.40am Wednesdays), Sunshine Coast (3.05pm Thursdays) and Rockhampton (9.35am Tuesdays).
