QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) will host the Creative3 Pitch next month in conjunction with River City Labs, iLab and Silicon Lakes.

The breakfast event sees finalists pitching their innovative creative businesses to invited investors including CEA's own Creative Enterprise Fund.

Now in its fifth year, Creative3 is the nation's only dedicated event to connect creative ventures with investors.

It has a track record of helping launch quality companies, with two of the five 2013 finalists securing early stage investment.

CEO of visual search technology company See-Out Sandra Mau said after pitching at Creative3 last year her company had received investment from the Creative Enterprise Fund and two other companies.

"I decided to pitch because I thought it was a good opportunity to share and get feedback on my business, and to meet the right people to take See-Out to the next level," Ms Mau said.
"The hard work that I put into my presentation paid off. I've come a long way in one year and the exposure my business received was really valuable.

"I think startup founders should always be pitching. They can make great investor contacts and will get valuable feedback from investors in the audience."

CEA CEO Anna Rooke said her organisation was serious about investing in high-potential creative companies.

"We are pleased to be working with Queensland's startup community including River City Labs, iLab and Silicon Lakes in staging this year's event to boost additional support provided to pitching companies," Ms Rooke said.

"The Creative Enterprise Fund has $1.2 million allocated to invest in businesses from creative industries including fashion, design, animation, digital media, film and television, music, gaming and software development.

"Our fund has recently made an investment in online prom dress startup, Fame & Partners."

Creative3 finalists will live pitch to investors at the Brisbane Exhibition & Convention Centre on September 18.

They will also vie for a People's Choice prize, selected by audience participation.
