17th July 2014

More than 2200 QUT students will celebrate the culmination of their university studies at QUT's mid-year graduation ceremonies on July 22, 23 and 24.

At least 10,000 proud family members and friends will also attend the eight ceremonies, which will be held at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Concert Hall in Brisbane across the three days.

QUT's Director of Student Support Services, Chris Hepperlin said completing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree was a wonderful achievement.

"We'd like to congratulate all our graduands for their hard work, enthusiasm and academic achievements - they've made it!" he said.

"QUT has a vibrant student population made up of people from all backgrounds, ages and nationalities and this diverse culture is reflected in our graduation ceremonies."

And while graduation is the end of one chapter of the students' life journey, it's also the start of an exciting new chapter.

"We equip our students with the education and skills to go out and forge their careers but we also stay in touch with them after graduation and can provide advice through QUT Careers and Employment on how to find a job and develop their careers," Mr Hepperlin said.

"Many of our graduates also stay in touch with the university through QUT Alumni.

"QUT has 3425 students eligible to graduate this July, and 2277 are currently registered to attend a graduation ceremony. More ceremonies will be held at the end of the year, with a total of around 9000 students expected to graduate in 2014."

Tickets are still available for people who would like to attend the graduation ceremonies and can be booked through QPAC.
