14th July 2014

If you are lamington lover or crafty with cakes you can't miss the fifth annual National Lamington Day celebrated at Old Government House this Sunday, 20 July at QUT's Gardens Point Campus.

The first ever glamington will be unrolled in a free, fun-filled family day from 10 to 1pm. What's a glamington, you ask? - it's a (cardboard) lamington coated in glitter and kids will have a chance to bling their own in the lamington craft corner.

They'll also be able to go on a treasure hunt through Old Government House and The Cube. Fantastic prizes will be on offer including a family pass to The Gruffalo live show and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

Free coffee from the courtyard café of Old Government House will be available for the first 50 mums and dads, and The Pantry will offer a special National Lamington Day price for a lamington and small coffee after that.

And, as always, there will be free lamingtons available on the day for kids.
