- Professor Lindy Willmott and Professor Ben White wrote in the Courier-Mail that the Queensland Government had missed the chance to decriminalise abortion and bring the state into the 21st century.
- Dr Angela Daly spoke with ABC Brisbane’s Drive program about privacy laws and protecting people’s sensitive information.

- Brett Lewis and Dr Luke Nothdurft’s coral bleaching videos aired as part of an ABC Australian Story episode involoving Great Barrier Reef research (8 mins).
- Distinguished Professor Stuart Cunningham piece on how the next generation culture warrior could prove vital in winning the next election appeared in Salon.com.
- Stephen Whyte and Professor Benno Torgler’s research on online dating services and the gap between ideal and reality, continued to be widely published including via SCIMEX and Breitbart.
- Associate Professor Gary Mortimer talked to News Corp about the overabundance of choice in supermarkets, with the story running in the Courier-Mail and OverSixty. He was also interviewed by 9 News about new homewares mega centres.
- Smart Company also interviewed Prof Mortimer about TK Maxx arriving in Australia, and ran an article on QUT CEA Fashion Accelerator designer Evie Willsteed.
- Michael Klaehn spoke with The New Daily about the unexpected benefits of the Oscars blunder.
- Associate Professor Wendy Scaife co-authored an article for Generosity about the next generation of philanthropists.
- Professor David Atchison told CNET why an image of strawberries with a blue filter still looks red because of what our brain perceives. The story also appeared on Techly.com.au.
- Sue Keay wrote about the curly questions she gets asked about robots and jobs in a piece on LinkedIn.
- Professor Jonathan Roberts used The Conversation to write about how driverless cars will be used.
- Tumut & Adelong Times featured the Law Faculty’s Assistant Dean of Research Professor Belinda Carpenter and her journey from chef to professor.
- Dr Mary Crawford talked to ABC Radio Brisbane’s Steve Austin about politics and taxis.
QUT education student and new Brisbane Lions Women’s AFL player Jamie Stanton was profiled in a Gold Coast Bulletin article on women with skill and passion.
- The Gympie Times welcomed journalism graduate Jacob Carson to its news desk.
- And the Central and North Burnett Times welcomed journalism graduate Philippe Coquerand as its newest reporter.
- Travel Weekly wrote about Travelshoot, a startup backed by QUT CEA and Shark Tank’s Steve Baxter.
- The Caboolture Shire Herald wrote about QUT Science and Engineering Challenge winners Burpengary State College. The Southern Star and the Wynnum Herald also wrote about their local students.
- St Andrews Anglican College dux and new QUT engineering and science student Jaxon Pukallus told the Coolum News he was starting uni with familiar faces – all his mates have also chosen QUT.
- Redland City Bulletin published a story about QUT’s involvement in a program with a local childcare centre looking at information literacy learning in young children.
- Dr Ozgur Dedehayir co-authored a Conversation article about retro technology and Nokia’s revival of its classic 3310 mobile phone, which was also published by the ABC and NewsDog.
