Statewide applications are now open for the widely-anticipated QUT Vice-Chancellor's STEM Camp for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The annual camp brings together 160 of Queensland's brightest Year 11 students for a free, five-day experience in the September school holidays, where students will work with QUT researchers and undergraduate students in a real-world STEM research project.
"The headquarters will be QUT's Gardens Point campus in Brisbane, which is home to acclaimed STEM facilities at the Science and Engineering Centre, including The Cube - one of the world's largest digital interactive learning and display spaces," QUT STEM Teacher-in-Residence Christopher Farrelly said.
Applicants must be current Queensland Year 11 students and have VHAs in science, mathematics B or C, engineering technology or computer science.
"We believe these students will be some of our scientists of the future so to get into the camp we also want them to tell us how they hope to one day make an impact in STEM areas," Mr Farrelly said.
Students in Brisbane and across regional Queensland are welcome to apply. QUT will fund transport and boarding accommodation for regional students who are selected for the camp.
