4th April 2016

The countdown is on for the 2016 QUT Classic on Sunday, May 15, with fun run participants urged to register by April 10 if they want to take advantage of earlybird rates.

Event organiser Cheryl Goodwin from QUT Student Support Services said the QUT Classic was a great family day out - and also supported an excellent cause.

"The run will help low income students who are attending uni, with $2 from each registration and all profits donated to the QUT Learning Potential Fund," she said.

"We'll be targeting 1500 entrants this year, with more buskers along the run route and a special RockIT FIT RAVE warm up and cool down.

"The first 1000 people to register will also receive a free limited edition QUT Classic 2016 T-shirt."

Participants who register by April 10 can access earlybird entry fee rates of $15 (1km event), $20 (5km) and $25 (10km).  (From April 10 to May 11 registrations will cost $15, $25 and $30.)

The Classic starts at 7.30am on Sunday, May 15, at QUT's Main Drive, with the 1km course going around the Botanic Gardens and the longer courses heading over the Goodwill Bridge, through South Bank and the CBD.
